Santiago Asensi is Managing Partner and founder of Asensi Abogados having previously been General Counsel to Maltese operator Eurogaming. He is a qualified lawyer specializing in Gaming & Gambling law, an expert in regulation, contract law and litigation for both online and land-based operators, and gambling-related stakeholders in Spain.

Santiago developed the first online gambling regulatory regime Colombia which has been held up by experts as a model and widely imitated in jurisdictions across Latin America. Alla joined Asensi Abogados in 2011 and has been a partner of the firm since September 2017. Previously, she worked in house at Indra Sistemas SA, Spain’s premier IT company.
Alla graduated in Law at the ESADE Business School (Barcelona) from where she was also awarded a Master’s in Business Law. She specializes in Gaming & Gambling law, is an expert in licensing procedures, regulatory and compliance related both to online and land-based operators.
Alla is been ranked in the Global Gaming & Gambling section of Chambers, the independent guide to the world’s leading lawyers. Her experience and expertise in international gaming and gambling matters is highlighted with clients praising her as «terrific, formidable and tremendous». She writes authoritatively on the Spanish gambling industry and is also a regular speaker at international conferences. She is a member the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL) and the International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA).
Marina Villalonga
Marina Villalonga joined Asensi Abogados in October 2022 and she is leading the M&A and corporate department. She graduated in Law in 2007 and she has worked for top-tier firms as Garrigues and Buades Legal within the Corporate Department, advising both national and international companies.
Marina has wide expertise in M&A, contractual law, insolvency and touristic law. She is a qualified lawyer, too, in New Technologies, e-commerce and Data Protection, and has worked as a data protection officer for many entities.
Marina speaks Spanish, English and mid-level in French.
Juan Cardona is a qualified lawyer in Spain as well as he passed the New York Bar Exam. Juan co-leads the Litigation Department at Asensi Abogados. He has extensive experience advising on pre-litigation and litigation matters with expertise in Civil and Commercial Contracts Law, Business and Corporate Law and Unfair Competition Law.
Prior to joining Asensi Abogados in 2019, Juan worked for one of the top Spanish international law firms, Garrigues, advising numerous national and international companies, especially in the tourism industry. He has also worked as a judicial fellow for the Civil Branch of the New York State Supreme Court.
Juan graduated in Law and gained a Master’s in Advocacy from the Balearic Islands University (Majorca, Spain) and a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Business Regulation, Litigation and Arbitration from the New York University School of Law (USA)
Sofía García-Carpintero joined Asensi Abogados as a lawyer in April 2019. Previously, she worked at Illeslex Abogados, a law firm specializing in property, tax advisory and civil litigation.
Sofía graduated in Law from Universidad Autónoma of Madrid in 2015 and studied a Master’s in Legal Practice at Universitat Oberta of Catalonia.
She is a member of the International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA).
Begoña Bernaldo de Quirós joined Asensi Abogados in May 2021. Previously, she worked at the Broseta law firm and for Altamira Real Estate.
Begoña is a qualified lawyer specialised in Insolvency, Civil Litigation and Gambling Law. She graduated in Law and Business Management from Pontifical Comillas University (ICADE) in 2012 and obtained an LLM in Legal and Corporate Business at IE Law School in 2015.
Marta De Francisco
Marta de Francisco joined Asensi Abogados in July 2022.
Prior to joining Asensi Abogados, Marta worked for one of the top-tier Spanish international law firms, where she gained experience advising numerous national and international companies on pre-litigation and litigation matters with expertise in Civil.
Marta graduated in Law from Universidad Carlos III of Madrid in 2017 and obtained a Master’s in Law from Universidad Pontificia Comillas and a Master’s in Global Business Law from ESADE Business School.

Víctor del Águila
Víctor del Águila joined Asensi Abogados in October 2022. He had previously worked for top-tier law firms such as Cuatrecasas and Garrigues, always within the Litigation and Arbitration department.
Víctor graduated in Law and Business Administration from the Carlos III University (Madrid) and obtained the Master’s in legal practice from La Rioja International University (UNIR).
Víctor speaks Spanish, English and mid-level in French.
Natalia Casabé joined the Litigation Department of Asensi Abogados in February 2021. Previously, she worked for different Spanish law firms specializing in unfair terms as Unive Abogados or Arriaga Asociados. She also has considerable expertise in Civil Ligation and Gambling Law.
Natalia graduated in Law from the University of the Balearic Islands (Palma de Mallorca) in 2015 and obtained a Master’s degree in Law from the same university in 2016. During the spring semester of 2014-2015 she studied Political Sciences in the University of Padova (Italy) as an exchange student with the Erasmus Program.
Antonio Aguareles
Antonio Aguareles joined Asensi Abogados in April 2023.
Previously, he worked for one of the top-tier firms as Buades Legal, where he gained experience advising numerous clients on pre-litigation and litigation matters with expertise in Criminal and Civil Liability law.
Antonio graduated in Law from the University of the Balearic Islands (Palma de Mallorca) in 2016 and obtained a Master’s degree in Law from the same university in 2017.

Jaime López
Jaime has extensive experience advising on pre-litigation and litigation matters with expertise in Civil and Touristic Law, Urbanism and Administrative Law.
Jaime graduated in Law from Universidad Complutense of Madrid in 2006 and participated in the entrance exams to the Judicial and Prosecutorial career. He also gained a Master of Law in Tourism and a Master’s degree in Urban Law from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB).
Prior to joining Asensi Abogados, Jaime worked for Illeslex Abogados, advising numerous national and international clients especially in the tourism industry.
